Rachel Gonzalez is an Latina illustrator from Rochester, New York working on personal and collaborative projects as an environmental visual development artist.

 

Growing up with her parents, reading graphic novels and picture books, continuously watching Saturday morning cartoons, and invested in video games, she's developed a strong passion towards drawing and world-building from a very young age. Her love for Illustrating environments has allowed her to paint backgrounds at Toronto's Pre-Production studio House of Cool Inc. on unannounced TV Animation, and assisted SVA students with their animated films such as First Dances! What Could Possibly Go Wrong? by Nikki Behjat, which became nominated for Best Animation at the All American High School Film Fest 2021. She also continues to work on freelance projects as an environment designer.

 

When not working on her illustrations, she is most likely seen at the nearest book store, watching cat videos, or visiting any exciting and delicious bakeries due to her sweet tooth ! 

She also very much loves otters.

Rachel is currently in New York City at the School of Visual Arts pursuing her degree in Illustration in her last year.
